Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their weekly sale of ewes with lambs at foot on Tuesday 30th April 2024. A larger show of 854 lives were forward and saw a fantastic trade.
Top price of £190 a life for a tremendous pen of Beltex x Texel ewes with Texel lambs at foot from J. Browell & Son, Quarry House Farm. Texel ewes with Texel lambs at foot topped at £178 a life from regular consignor W.J. & J.G. Bell, Kinning Hall, also from the same home topping the twin section at £150 a life (£450 an outfit) for a pen full of strong one crop Texel ewes with Texel lambs at foot.
Hoggs and lambs start to make an appearance today topping at £188 a life for a pen of 5 Texel x hoggs with Texel lambs at foot from J.H. & J.E. Taylor, The Harras who also topped the Suffolk section with Suffolk x hoggs with Texel lambs at foot at £165 per life.
