Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report
C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 1,304 Store Lambs on Tuesday 30th July 2024.
Numbers were very much the same on the week with some vendors taking full advantage of the dry weather. Today’s sale averaged £104.50 with a larger show of pet lambs on offer and short keep lambs still very much in high demand. Topping today at £162 was a tremendous Beltex cross lamb from K E White & Partners, Morwood Farm, Bardon Mill. Following with Suffolks at £152 for a fabulous pen of Suffolk cross lambs from C J Roots, Kilnford Croft Farm.
A smaller selection of feeding ewes forward met a brisk trade with plenty of purchasers on the hunt for feeding sheep many more could have been sold to vendor’s advantage.
