Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 3,759 Store Lambs on Tuesday 6th August 2024.

A much larger show of store lambs forward with some fantastic first draws on offer, selling to a full ringside of buyers from up and down the country. Topping the sale with a tremendous pen of Suffolk cross ewe lambs from M Strang-Steel, Philiphaugh Estate realised £156.

A whole sale average of £110.31 (up £29 on the year) also included 460 Blackface lambs from Argyllshire to average £58.89. The Texel section topped twice at £150 per head from CJ Roots, Kilnford Croft and M Cousin, The Laws.
