Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 8,616 store lambs and feeding ewes on Wednesday 18th September 2024.

Suffolk lambs topped the sale at £130 shown by MJ & CM Hutchinson, Red Gap, Cleveland with Texels selling to £128 from W Thomson, Ramseycleugh, Ettrick. A large show of longer keep lambs forward met a few new faces around the ring side, regularly selling away between £80 to £90. Short keep lambs still in very high demand with all breeds being highly contended for.

Feeding ewes sold to £96 for Mules consigned by JF Latimer, Causey View, Bardon Mill. Similarly, to the store lambs, feeding ewes keenly sought after with vendors looking for numbers to fulfil orders.
