Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 6,487 Store Lambs on Tuesday 1st October 2024.

With breeding sales in full swing, a smaller show of store lambs forward seen to a much dearer trade on the week with customers travelling from all four corners of the United Kingdom to take advantage of the quality and quantity put in front of them. Topping the sale was a pair of tremendous Texel cross Ewe lambs from C Bradbury, Halliburton realising £210.

Short keep lambs in strong demand with more numbers needed each week to fulfil buyers demands, likewise the long term lamb trade rises as new faces  gather at ring side wanting numbers.

Feeding ewes in strong demand with a pen of Suffolk crossed ewes tupping the sale at £130 from Gibson Farming, Cut thorn farm.
