Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 8,267 Store Lambs on Tuesday 8th October 2024.

A much larger show of lambs forward on the week with a large proportion of them being longer keep lambs, like we have been seeing for a few weeks now. Certainly nothing flat about the trade with new faces appearing around the ring side every week, a shortage of stronger short keep lambs met a high demanding trade. Topping the day were 37 Beltex cross lambs from TN Cavers & Co, Sorbie Farm realising £129 per head.

A larger show of feeding ewes forward of 978 met a brisk trade topping the sale was a pen of Texels from Meikle Whiteriggs Farms reaching to £128
