Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report
C & D Auction Marts, Longtown held their weekly sale of 6,224 Store Lambs on Tuesday 22nd October 2024.
A smaller show of store sheep forward on the week, met new faces around the ringside. This ensured all classes of sheep were highly sought after. Topping the sale from M F Hall, Woodhill Farm was a fantastic Texel cross lamb realising £146.
A thank you must go to Robert King, Gospel Hall for judging the show of North Country Cheviot and South Country Cheviot store lambs. This was certainly a challenging job due to such a high class of cheviots forward.
First time vendor, R Gray, Great Ryle, received 1st place in the North Country Cheviot Section and JA Smith, The Burrows 1st place in the South Country Cheviot Section.
