Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Reports

C&D Auction Marts had forward 2,433 store hoggs, feeding ewes and cast rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 11th February 2025.

Numbers have started to really tighten up, however store sheep of all classes were still in high demand.

Topping the store hogg section was a pen of Texel tup hoggs from G Davies & Partners, North Synton Farm, realising £152.

Purchasers are still on the lookout for numbers, many more  could have been sold to vendor’s advantage.

348 Feeding Ewes and cast rams were forward which lifted to another gear due to new faces appearing at the ringside. The sale topped at £190 for a pair of Texel crossed ewes from Mochrum Estate, Stanley Wright.
