C&D Auctions held their weekly sale of prime sheep in Dumfries on Wednesday 4th September 2024.

Prime Lambs met a firm demand although a touch easier in keeping with the national trend, well fleshed lambs wanted.

430 Cast Ewes & Tups were forward easily maintaining recent rates. More buyers in attendance, requiring greater numbers.

Topping today’s sale at £220 was a Bleu Du Maine Tup from D & D Murphy, Townpark.

Sale of Goats to £100 

C & D Marts Ltd Dumfries held a successful sale of goats of all classes on Wednesday 4th September, with a good attendance of buyers. The sale was topped by a pen of 15 cast Boer Nannies which sold at £100.00 each. Younger goats reflected the national trend.

Principal prices: Cast Nannies to £100.00; Breeding Nannies to £70.00; Store goats to £40.00 (x3) & goat Kids to £30.00.

More could have been sold to advantage.
