REPORT
The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. , Longtown held a highly successful farm displenishing sale at Morton Farm, Calthwaite, Penrith on Saturday 14th January 2006, on behalf of Messrs G.H. Stalker who have given up the tenancy of the farm.

For sale was a high class field of well maintained implements, also in lamb ewes and crop.

An extremely large crowd of friends and neighbours attended the sale, including buyers from Aberdeen down to Wales. Bidding was animated from start to finish with the vendors being highly satisfied with the outcome of their sale.

In lamb Continental ewes sold to £68 and £59, shearlings £68 and ewe hoggs £61, Beltex shearling rams to £125. Hay was equivalent to £2 per bale for small bales.
