SKERNISH FARM SALE

C&D Auction Marts Ltd were instructed to conduct the on farm sale at Skernish, Glenbarr, Campbeltown on behalf of Neil Macphail on Friday 20th September 2024.

After three generations of farming at Skernish, there was a wide range of lots on offer consisiting mainly of heavy horse ploughing equipment, early and vintage machinery and a good selection of equestrian harness and equipment . A glorious day ensured that a large and busy crowd of purchasers were in attendance. All lots were well bid for with a top of £5,000 for a Case 885 XL tractor and loader, followed by £2,800 for a Fordson Super Major tractor, with £1,700 paid for the grey Fergie tractor. The highlight of the sale were the two Clydesdale horses. These fourteen and seventeen year old working geldings sold at £1,250 and £900 to a noted heavy horse stud.

Outwith the dispersal sale a number of additional lots were included and these sold to £9,500 for a Mitsubushi L200 pickup.
