Prime lambs were a large show for numbers and upheld recent high
rates to a full ringside of buyers. Overall average was 129.3p, although
the 3,842 lambs over 37 kilos averaged 132.4p, selling to a top of
148p per kilo for Beltex’s from Messrs Bell, Kirkton, Hawick
and to £76.50 for Texels from Smalmstown. The 1,605 lambs under
37 kilos averaged 123.9p per kilo and to a top of 133p per kilo and £52.80
