Top price in the prime cattle was 184.5p paid by
W Kirkup, Butcher, Longtown for a Belgian Blue heifer from JF & SJ
MacDonald, Ladyhousesteads. Limousin bullocks to 175.5p, 166.5p from
Dashwellgreen and purchased by Messrs Nattrass, Butcher & Messrs
Jewitt; Belgian Blues 175.5p Ladyhousesteads and purchased by W Kirkup,
Butcher, others to 167.5p The Gill.

A smaller show of OTM again met
a fast trade with Limousin cows to 133.5p, 113.5p & 111.5p Hallburn;

The massive show of lambs were presented to a larger ring of buyers
which ensured a buoyant trade throughout.
The 3,952 lambs over 36
kg averaged 128p with the 2,527 lambs under 36kg averaging 126.6p.
The overall average for the sale was 127.5p.
