prime lambs and 4,560 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at
Longtown on Thursday 8th October, 2009.
Clean cattle were short of quality sorts. Top price of 177.5p for
a Limousin bullock from J. & N. Blaylock & Son, Hallburn,
others 167.5p Swaites. Limousin heifers to 167.5p from H. & W.G.
Robley, Townfoot.
The 35 Over Thirty Month cattle were plainer sorts
and cheaper. Top of 133.5p for a Limousin heifer from Blindhillbush.

Another
massive show of 7,363 prime lambs were forward to the usual ringside
of buyers and with more lightweights and plain lambs included an
overall average of 141.8p was achieved.
Best lambs were still 150-160p,
with the 5,679 lambs over 36 kilos averaging 143.2p. Top price per
kilo of 171p for Texels on two occasions, firstly from Barnglies
then from Mossband House. Top price per head of £72.20 for
Suffolks from Sceughdyke, others £68.20
