Over thirty month cattle followed the national
trend this week with a top price of 144.5p for a Limousin bullock
from Messrs Hewson, Jerriestown. Cows to 127.5p for Angus from Burnfoot
on Esk; British Blue 111.5p Nunscleugh; Simmental 109.5p Englishtown;
Limousin 99.5p Sceughdyke, 98.5p Bleatarn, 95.5p Nunscleugh; Friesian

The 4,573 prime hoggs were forward to the usual ring of buyers to
average 196.2p per kilo overall. Hoggs were dearer on the week and
in short supply. The 1,581 hoggs weighing under 36 kilos levelled
out at 198.1p and the 2,968 over 36 kilos averaged 195.6p, the dearest
trade on the week thus far. Top price of 271p per kilo and to £108.50
per head for Texels from T. & M. Irving, Becton Hall, others £103.50
