103 prime cattle, 6 young bulls, 37 over thirty month cattle, 2,696
prime lambs and 3,881 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at
Longtown on Thursday 11th August, 2011.
A massive show of 103 prime
cattle the largest seen for sometime at this centre. Trade maintained
recent high rates with vendors being pleased with their returns.
Prices peaking at 214.5p and 211.5p for Limousin steers from A Irving,
Toppin Castle and purchased by W Kirkup & Son,
Butchers, Longtown. Mr. Irving also sold the top price Limousin heifer
at 210.5p again purchased by W Kirkup & Sons.

A much improved show of OTM cattle were forward and saw a brisk
trade throughout. Top price was 169.5p for a Limousin cow from Messrs
