48 prime cattle, 13 young bulls, 45 over thirty month cattle, 5,462
prime lambs and 6,731 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at
Longtown on Thursday 13th October, 2011.
Again prime cattle met a buoyant
trade with prices peaking at 220.5p for a Limousin heifer from Mr
A. Irving, Toppin Castle. Mr Irving also sold another to 210.5p.
Limousin bullocks topped at 213.5p from Messrs J.W. Vevers, High
Stenries, purchased by W. Kirkup & Sons, Butchers,
Longtown.

seen for some time. A full ring of buyers keen for best quality lambs
saw the sale average an excellent 181.57p per kilo. More good lambs
