The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward
43 prime cattle, 4 young bulls, 18 over thirty month cattle, 8,865
prime hoggs and 6,975 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at
Longtown on Thursday 21st February 2013.
A shortage of numbers of prime cattle resulted in a fantastic trade,
a much improved show of bullocks saw the sale top at 240.5p and 237.5p
for Limousins shown by D.J. Garthwaite & Son, Wyseby Hill Cottage,
Messrs Garthwaites run of cattle levelled at 229.7p. Other Limousin
bullocks sold to 235.5p and 234.5p from J.D. & D. Nicholson,
The Gill. Limousin heifers sold to 229.5p from Messrs Garthwaite,
Wyseby Hill Cottage.
