The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart held
their annual prize show and sale of Greyface hoggs with lambs at
foot at Longtown on Tuesday 6th May 2008.
There was a larger entry than
usual. Quality was excellent and the judging was able carried out
by Robert Carter, Parceltown, Longtown.

The following
prices were awarded:-
1st Messrs Ridsdale, Yewtree, Thomas Close, Calthwaite selling
at £58 each
2nd Messrs Hayton, Longrow, Canonbie selling at £59 each
3rd Messrs Fawcett, Little Blencow Farm, Blencow, Penrith selling
at £57 each
The overall average for hoggs and singles was £49.82
each.
