The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C., in conjunction
with The Kintyre Agricultural Society held the Inaugural Sale of
Rams in the area on Friday 23rd September 2011.

The sale was a great
success and was terrifically supported by the local farming community.
Out of an entry of 102 rams, only 12 failed to find new homes and
vendors went home well satisfied with their days trading.
A glorious
day and a marvellous set up ensured that this inaugural sale will
surely become a successful yearly event.
The sale was topped at £550
for a Texel shearling from J. Pirie & Son, Machrihanish, selling
to W. Skilling, Tayinloan.
Overall the 92 rams sold averaged £300.97
which was well within reach of vendors expectations.
