STORE & BREEDING CATTLE REPORT


The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 662 store cattle at their annual Kirkcambeck sale on Tuesday 31st March, 2009.

Store cattle saw the dearest trade for sometime with local and distant buyers ensuring both finishing cattle and grazing cattle met a fantastic trade.

Top price of £1120 for an excellent Belgian Blue bullock from D & Y Wilson, Plumpe Farm, Gretna. Belgian Blue heifers to £985 (x 4) Plumpe.

Messrs D & Y Wilson, Plumpe Farm sold a teriffic run of 81 Belgian Blue and Angus Bullocks & heifers, selling to £1120 with an outstanding average of £876 up £195 on the year.
