The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 294 store cattle
at their sale on Tuesday 15th September, 2009.
The cattle trade saw big short
keep cattle selling beyond expectations with smaller wintering cattle
a touch easier simply because of the weather, farmers were busy with
the harvest. Top price was £855 for a Belgian Blue steer from Messrs Ferguson, Sandbed,
heifers to £845 for a Belgian Blue from TL Hogg & Son, Ryehills.
