The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart held their fortnightly
sale of store cattle at Longtown on Tuesday
16th August, 2011.
A
catalogue entry of 275 store cattle and suckler calves plus around
30 unentered cattle met a buoyant trade with the sale average being
up £185 on the year.
Prices peaked at £1,120 for Angus
bullocks from Mr E.A. Dodd, Roanstree with heifers to £1,000
for British Blue from J.H. Robinson & Son, Redgatehead.
