AUTUMN BREEDERS & STORE CATTLE

The Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. had forward
97 breeding cattle and 237 store cattle at their annual sale on Saturday
8th October 2011.
A good show of strong store cattle saw trade remain
buoyant and once again vendors were happy with their returns with
more cattle required to satisfy buyer’s orders. Bullocks sold
to a top of £1,040
for a pen of Limousins from Messrs T.F. Siddle, Moss Side Farm. Limousin
heifers also sold to £1,040 from R.M. & P. Armstrong, Slealands.
A
good show of 97 breeding cattle met a brisk trade throughout with
plenty of keen bidders. Topping the sale at £1,850 from R.M. & P.
Armstrong, Slealands was a Limousin cow with Limousin bull calf.
Simmental cows with calves to £1,750 (x2) from Messrs T.F.
Siddle, Moss Side. Messrs Siddle’s run of Simmental and Limousin
cows and calves averaged out at £1,215 and sold to £1,750
(x2), £1,500 and £1,300 (x3).
