STORE CATTLE
A much improved show of quality saw a packed ringside of keen bidders
ensure a flying trade throughout. The sale was topped at £1150
for a Limousin heifer shown by Messrs A & A Ewing, Dumbretton. British
Blues sold to
£1100 from ML & LB Bell, Winterhope with a Limousin bullock
selling to
£1135 (x4) and £1130 (x4) from W T Bendle & Son,

BREEDING CATTLE
A larger show of breeding cattle resulted in a buoyant trade. The
sale was topped at £2450 twice both for British Blue cows with
Limousin Bull Calves from G McGimpsey & Co, D’Mainholm. Messrs
McGimpsey had a part dispersal of 21 cows and calves which sold extremely
well and averaged
£1678 for mixed age cows. Limousin bulling heifers sold
to £1230 and £1200 for JW Thomlinson & Son, Standingstonerigg.
