The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held their Fortnightly
Sale of Store & Breeding Cattle at Longtown on Tuesday
17th September, 2013.
A catalogue sale of 282 store cattle and suckler calves met a flying
trade throughout with a full ring of buyers ensuring vendors went
home happy with their days trading. Top price of the day to £1225
for a Limousin bullock shown by Messrs J Magnay, Smallholms. Charolais
heifers sold to £1140 (x2) from D Stephen, Crooked Holme Barn,
then again at
£1140 for a Belgian Blue heifer shown by ML & LB Bell, Winterhope.
