Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report
C & D Auction Marts Limited had forward a catalogue entry of 185 Store Cattle & 87 Breeding Cattle at their annual sale on Tuesday 11th October 2016.
Store cattle saw trade follow national trend with top quality cattle still in demand. The sale was topped at £1,130 for a British Blue heifer sold by TW & AM Moscrop & Son, Ryeclose. Bullocks sold to £1,090 for a British Blue sold by Devonport Farms, Blakelaw.

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their Autumn sale of beef breeding cattle, where a catalogue entry of 87 sold to extreme rates. The sale topped at £2,000 for a Limousin heifer with a Limousin heifer calf. British Blue heifers sold to £1,700 from Mr Stuart Lake, Abbeymoss. Limousin cows sold to £1,700 from EJ Underwood, Haggistone Holm. The highlight of the sale was the dispersal from TD Barker & Co., Old Irvine, Canonbie, whose run of hill Simmental and Blue Grey cows with Simmental calves topped at £1,700, £1,650, £1,550, £1,500 for the Simmental cows and the Blue Grey’s topped at £1,150 and £1,100.
