Store hoggs were another brilliant trade.Top of £96.50 for Texels from Castle Farm, others £95.50 Dinwoodie Green, £89.50 Hallburn; Hill Cheviot £92.50 Drycleughlea, £89 Ropelawshiel; Beltex £88.50 Winshield; Charollais £88.50 Winshield; Suffolk £88.50 Croft Estates, £87.50 Rosgill Hall, £85 Longbeoch; Half Bred £88.50 Adderston Shiels; Cheviot Mule £80.50 Dinley; North Country Cheviot £80.50 Adderston Shiels; Blackface £76.50 Lawesknowe, £73.50 Nunnerie, £69.50 Croft Estate; Greyface £76.50 Brewery House, £75.50 Kingside and Kilncroft; Swaledale £55.50 Devonshire Farm.

Another large entry of 813 in-lambers sold very easy to a packed ring of customers. Top price of £155 and £150 for correct Greyfaces from Border Rigg, others £132 Grouse Hall; Half Bred £145, £140 North Burn; Texel £139 Grouse Hall; Masham £127 Grouse Hall; Suffolk cross £120 Grouse Hall; North Country Cheviot £112 Grouse Hall; Hill Cheviot £110, £105 Drycleughlea.

In lamb Greyface hoggs scanned twins sold to £140 (x2) and £138 Faugh Beeches.

Geld hoggs to £125 for Texels from Cubby Hill; Greyface £87.50 Brewery House, £86.50 Winshield, £83.50 Midtodhills; Suffolk £83.50 Hallburn.

The first ewes with lambs at foot were forward. They met an exceptional demand with numbers far short of requirements. Top of £85 for a Zwartbles with single from South Mains; Suffolk £81 Red House. Ewes with twins to £70 for Greyface from Redhouse, others £68 Kirkbeck.
