BREEDING SHEEP
1,112 Breeding Sheep were forward at the late season sale, comprising
25 rams, 2 dispersals and an array of other breeding stock.
Rams
sold to £320 for a Bluefaced Leicester shearling from
Messrs Browell, Quarry House, others from the same home to £300
and £220; Charollais shearling £260, £240 Upper
Auchenlay; Texel shearling £200 Kinninghall, £160 Haas
Grove and Greenknowe; Suffolk shearling £180, £160 Catslackburn.
Also
included were two dispersals on behalf of W. Bell & Co.,
Greenknowe, Canonbie and Mr W. Nairn, Burnton Farm, Cumnock.
These
sheep attracted a full ring of buyers and sold very well considering
the time of year.
