The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward
4,035 Store Hoggs and Feeding Ewes, also 622 In-lambers at their
weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 5th March,
2013.
Store
hoggs were a massive show with the usual buyers. The best trade
of the season was accomplished.

The 622 In-lambers were of better quality with plenty of buyers
present, as a result all classes very easy to sell and short of
requirements. Top of £110 for in-lamb Texel gimmers from
Mid Dargarvel who also sold Greyface in-lamb ewes at £98;
Roussin £90 Allfornaught; Hill Cheviot £70 Allfornaught.
In lamb hoggs sold to £84 for Texels from Airds of Balcary;
Greyface £80 Airds of Balcary and Waterloo Farm.
