The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held their
Annual Show & Sale of hoggs with lambs, together with ewe and
lambs and store hoggs at Longtown on Tuesday
14th May 2013, when
there was an entry of 1,607.
There
was a crowded ring of both local and distant buyers present, all
classes met an exceptional trade and easy to sell.
The show was
kindly sponsored by Capontree Veterinary Centre and prior to the
sale judging was ably carried out by Eddie Eastham of Longburgh
Fauld whose awards were as follows:-
Greyface hoggs with singles
1st – Messrs Ridsdale, Yewtree, sold at £105.
2nd – P.M. Kidd, Briggle, sold at £95.
3rd – Messrs Ridsdale, Yewtree, sold at £91.
