Longtown Primestock Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 7,674 sheep comprising of 5,164 prime lambs and 2,510 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 30th December 2021.

A larger show of 5,164 prime lambs were forward.

Beltex lambs topped the price per kilo at 430p from Moir Livestock, Home Farm, Aberdeen.

Topping the sale per head of £182 for Texel lambs shown by WJ Scott Ltd, Low Leam, Hexham.

Hill ewes to £113 for Cheviot ewes consigned by Solwaybank Farm Partners, Chapelknowe, with Blackface ewes selling to £112 from W Walton & Sons, Dunns House, Otterburn.

Heavy Mule ewes sold to £129 from S & JL Sanderson, Swallowdene, Maryport and from JH Robinson & Son, Redgate Head, Penton.

Rams sold to £168 for Bluefaced Leicesters from W Walton & Sons, Dunns House.
