Longtown Primestock Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 5,948 sheep comprising of 3,017 prime hoggs and 2,931 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 11th May 2023.
A small, select show of new season spring lambs were forward. Butcher and wholesales custom increases and lambs wanted to fulfill demand. Top per kilo of 371p for Texels shown by R Johnston, Kimmeter Green, Annan with top per head of £170 for Suffolks from H Martindale, The Land, Ecclefechan.
A smaller show of 3,017 prime hoggs were forward. Another tidy show of hoggs forward, all well finished and meated hoggs sold to a premium whilst lean hoggs met some resistance. Heavy hoggs in big demand next week. Please contact John Walton for all further enquiries 07889527066.
